Responsive review
Review page layouts using Chrome device presets or custom viewport dimensions.
Free in Chrome.
Check how navigation, text, and page sections fit at different screen widths using simulated browser viewports.
Capture a viewport preset
- Open SnapDiff and expand More options.
- Under Device, choose a preset.
- Select Viewport, Full page, or Area, then capture.
- Use A/B or Multi to review different widths together.
Close DevTools and keep the source tab visible during capture. SnapDiff restores your original view afterward.
Use a custom viewport
- Under More options > Device, choose Custom viewport, directly below Current tab.
- Enter Width (px) and Height (px), then choose Apply.
- Select Viewport, Full page, or Area, then capture.
Enter whole numbers from 200 to 4096 pixels per side, up to 16 million pixels total. These sizes represent the browser viewport, not a physical device. Full-page captures can continue below the chosen height.
Your selection is remembered when you reopen the popup. Choose different dimensions before each A/B or Multi capture as needed; saved images retain their own sizes and labels. Choose Current tab to stop overriding the viewport.
A/B pairs can use Diff even with different viewport sizes. Images align top-left at native size, and areas present in only one image count as changed. Use matching presets when you want to isolate a UI change from responsive reflow. Inspect pixel differences.
What to look for
- Navigation that wraps or crowds other controls.
- Text that clips, overflows, or becomes difficult to read.
- Images and buttons that lose their alignment.
Presets show the layout at the selected viewport size in Chrome. Follow up on physical devices for touch interactions and device-specific behavior.
Area keeps your selected preset or custom viewport. Draw a rectangle or choose Select element after the responsive layout appears. SnapDiff fits large viewports into the tab for selection and restores your original view afterward.
Firefox can review and export saved responsive captures, but new preset and custom viewport captures require Chrome. Firefox Area capture uses the current tab's layout. See browser compatibility.
