Every feature is free, with unlimited workflows. No account, payment details, or license key needed.

Install from the official browser stores

1. Choose your browser's available store button above.
2. Review the permissions and confirm installation in the store.
3. SnapDiff opens a setup page. Choose See how to capture for this guide or Open sample in editor to try a comparison. You can also choose Skip for now.

Try a sample comparison

Choose Open sample in editor on the setup page, or open Captures > Help > Try a sample comparison later.

The sample opens in a separate editor tab in A / B. Click Diff to highlight changes, choose Add an arrow in A / B or the Text tool to mark what matters, then use Copy or the download controls to share evidence.

Choose Hide hints to continue without the guide. Your sample edits save in the local library. Opening the sample from Help restores the hints and preserves your annotations. Sample activity is separate from real comparisons in local diagnostics.

Choose Help > See how to capture for the first-capture steps below. The sample images are created locally and need no account or webpage access.

Make your first capture

1. Pin SnapDiff to your toolbar from the browser's Extensions menu.
2. Open a web page you have permission to capture.
3. Click SnapDiff and choose Single > Viewport.
4. Click Capture and keep the page visible until the editor opens.
5. Add annotations if needed. Changes save automatically; press Enter or click outside to finish a text label.
6. Use Copy, download an image or PDF, or use the back arrow to return to Captures.

Exports include full-quality images and A4 PDFs. Custom watermarks and timestamps are optional and free.

Browser compatibility

Use desktop Chrome 120+ for responsive presets and language simulation, or desktop Firefox 153+ for the core capture and review workflow. Local accessibility checks are free in both browsers. Responsive presets and language simulation are Chrome features.

Updates and reload notices

For store-installed copies, your browser delivers updates after a release is approved and published in that store. Updates are not necessarily immediate, and Chrome and Firefox releases may arrive at different times.

If prompted, finish any text edit and let your capture complete, then choose Reload SnapDiff in the popup. Reloading keeps your saved captures and settings.
