Annotations
Use arrows, shapes, drawing, and text to make visual feedback clear.
Point to the detail that matters and add a short note describing the change you want.
Mark up an image
- Open a saved image from Captures, or finish a new capture.
- Choose Shapes, Pen, or Text. Use the chevron beside Shapes or Pen to open its options.
- Pick a color and add your annotation on the image.
- Changes save automatically. Use the back arrow to return to Captures.
Annotations stay editable while your original screenshot stays unchanged. In A / B and Multi view, you can draw on an image or across the gap between images. Diff shows B's image-specific annotations; cross-image marks stay saved and return when you switch back to A / B.
Choose red, yellow, green, or black, or use the pipette for a custom color. Select an existing annotation to change its color; otherwise, your choice applies to the next mark.
Choose a shape or pen width
Open Shapes to choose Arrow, Circle, Line, or Rectangle, then drag on the image. The shape button shows your current choice; click it to use that shape again without reopening the menu.
Open Pen stroke beside the pen icon to choose Thin, Medium, or Thick. Click the pen icon to draw with that width. Medium is the initial setting. Changing the width affects new pen marks, not existing annotations.
Your last shape and pen width are remembered across captures and after reopening the editor. They work on Single captures and A/B or Multi comparisons.
Draw across images
In A / B or Multi view, start a mark on one image and drag it across another. Text can span images too.
Marks inside one image stay attached to it. Marks crossing an edge or gap belong to the whole comparison.
Cross-image marks use the same editing controls and appear in side-by-side copies and downloads. They are hidden, not deleted, in Diff view. A ruler spanning images includes the gaps between images, not spacing within the original page.
Change text size
Choose Text or select a text annotation, then adjust Font size from 8 to 512 pixels. Valid changes appear immediately as you type or use the stepper arrows. The size is measured in the original image's pixels, so zooming does not change the saved text size.
Your last chosen color and text size are remembered between captures, including choices made while editing existing items. Color and size changes to saved annotations can be undone.
Add text inline
Choose Text and click the image to type directly on it. Press Enter or click outside the field to save; use Shift+Enter for a new line and Esc to cancel.
Double-click a text annotation with Select to edit it. Color and size controls remain available while typing. Clear the label and save to remove it; saved text changes can be undone.
Inspect the details
Use 100% for actual image pixels, Hand to pan, and Fit to fit the image width and return to the top. Zoom affects your preview, not export dimensions.
Measure spacing
Choose Ruler (M) and drag between two points. The readout shows straight-line distance plus horizontal (H) and vertical (V) distances in image pixels. Hold Shift while dragging to lock the line horizontally or vertically.
Release to save the ruler and label automatically. Draw again to add another measurement. Rulers stay with the capture when you switch tools or reopen the editor. In A/B and Multi, rulers can stay on one image or span the comparison.
Choose Select (V) and click a ruler. Then:
- Drag the line to move the measurement.
- Drag an endpoint to change the distance. Hold
Shiftto keep it horizontal or vertical. - Drag the label to reposition it.
- Choose a color swatch to change the line color.
Undo and redo work for ruler edits. Select a ruler and press Delete to remove it. Esc cancels an in-progress drag and returns to Select; it does not remove saved rulers.
Zooming changes the preview, not the measured distance. For consistent measurements, compare images exported at the same scale. Saved rulers appear in copied images and every download format.
